I've been shooting with the Holga for more than 10 years. My first experience with the camera was at Rhode Island School of Design where I graduated in 1995.
At first it was something fun to do, then I started using it for more important personal projects. I've always liked shooting in a square format so the Holga was a natural progression for me. And even though I've started shooting more with a digital camera, I always come back to the Holga. Now if I can only find a way to add a digital back to a Holga, that would be something.
I launched the first version of this page in 1996.

| | What is a Holga? It's cheap, fun and almost entirely made of plastic. The Holga is an inexpensive camera some might call a toy, and I suppose they're right. It's also a great tool for the photographic artist. Who cares if the lens gets a little dirty? Throw away that lens cap, you won't be needing it!
Holga specs:
» Takes 6.45 or 120 square formats
» One 1/100 sec shutter speed (hey, who really needs
more than one?)
» 2 f-stops, f8 & f11 (sort-of)
» Hot shoe for electronic flash (or a built-in fash if you but the Holga FN).
» 60mm wide angle lens chock full of distortion, flare,
soft edges and light falloff
» Comes with a neck strap
» Absolutely no guarantees from anyone
» Mostly plastic, including the lens
Holga models:
Holga 120 N - basic camera
